A theoretical and practical introduction to the legal system and the role of the law in regulating commercial
transactions with an emphasis on contract law as has been developed by case laws as well as by legislations
passed by Parliament. Several categories of law are discussed with an emphasis on the nature of contracts,
formation, breach, remedies, business structures, regulating of personalities in companies, finance and
banking, employment and industrial relations.
Throughout the study of this subject, student should acknowledge God as the author of law as it says in Isa
33:22, “For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us”. God set
standard on which all other laws and regulations fall under as Jesus himself stated in Matthew 22:40 On these
two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” However, there is penalty when someone disobeys the
law, similarly for God’s law as John 7:51 says that “But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.”
